Molded cyclone is constructed of a translucent static resistant plastic and features tapered ports to connect to most shop vacuum hoses. Oneida Air System's Steel Dust Deputy I permanently mounted a Deluxe Dust Deputy, a mini-cyclone, in an unfinished room next to the workshop, with its drum suspended 32" off the floor. A 13 AMP shop vacuum, dedicated for use with the Dust Deputy, sits under the drum. The vac is plugged into a switched receptacle, with the vac switch left ON. A wall-switch in the shop electrifies the vac receptacle. As shown in Customer Images, a 2" PVC pipe runs from the side port of the cyclone to a mid-point in the shop ceiling, where a twelve foot long 1.5" flexible hose is connected. This makes for more floor space in the shop, since the shop vac is always in the adjoining room. With this set-up, it only takes a few seconds to unhook the flex hose, turn on the switch, and begin vacuuming. Sort of a central vacuum for the shop. That system, minus the Dust Deputy, was in place for about 15 years and it worked well; except for one thing. The shop vac filter became caked...
